Alexandra Teaches Yoga

What happens in a class?

We settle in gently, with some simple breathing
exercises. Next we warm up physically, stretching and
moving. Then we explore one or more yoga postures
(asana) - working on our strength, balance and
flexibility. All bodies are different, so we all get to
different stages - it’s about finding out what’s right for
you. We end with a guided relaxation.

For those who have experience of yoga - this is a
Hatha yoga class with a focus on alignment and
breath. Everyone is welcome - all bodies, all levels of
experience.

To help keep the class focused on your needs, I'll ask
you to fill in a medical form before you join. You don't
have to tell me anything you don't want to but it helps
me to tailor the class if I know what you need to be
careful about.

About Alexandra

I love yoga for the way it brings body and
mind together, for the rest and refreshment it
brings me - and because it’s fun. I am also
inspired by yoga’s thousand-plus years of
history and philosophy, starting in ancient
India before arriving in the West over a
century ago.

I’ve been practising yoga for about ten years.
In 2024, after completing the British Wheel of
Yoga (BWY) Foundation course, I decided to
train to teach. The BWY training has a strong
focus on inclusion and safe practise, and it’s
also in-depth - the BWY Dipoma course is 500
hours over three years.
